Taiwan Travel Restrictions

Key Information for Travelers to Taiwan.

Taiwan travel restrictions. Effective December 1 2020 all travelers to Taiwan are required to present a certificate of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within three working days of boarding before they will be allowed to board their flight to Taiwan. In addition to about 1100 kilometers of conventional railway lines Taiwan has a 350-km high-speed rail system along its west coast. Taiwans Centres for Disease Control announced a temporary ban on all foreign nationals entering or transiting in Taiwan with the exception of residents ARCAPRCGold card holders.

Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in Taiwan including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others. All visitors need to submit a negative PCR COVID-19 test result and quarantine for 14 days at a government-approved hotel. Other exceptions will be considered only on emergency or humanitarian grounds.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC has issued a Level 1 Travel Health Notice for Taiwan for COVID-19 indicating a low level of COVID-19 in Taiwan. Travel to these countries is not advised. These may change with little warning.

Although there is no lockdown in place the authorities are encouraging people to limit travel between cities and regions to reduce the risk of COVID spread.
